This course provides Step 1 of the three-step process to obtain your CSCS Green Card. It awards the RQF Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment qualification, delivered online and hosted by Highfield. This qualification has no expiry date and is a mandatory requirement for applying for a CSCS Green Card.

This course aims to prepare learners for work on a construction site. It covers the key aspects of health and safety that help keep construction workers as safe as possible.
After completing the course, learners will have gained:
The course is available 24/7 online. It can be completed at the pace that suits the learner, though we estimate the course to take 5 hours to complete.
This is an external course hosted by Highfield Qualifications. Access to learners is provided through our LMS, where progress can also be tracked.
The package includes access to the full learning material, a practice test paper, revision material, and a seat for the remote invigilation exam.
The exam must be booked in advance and can be done so through our support team once the package is purchased.

As part of the course learners will receive two e-certificates:
The second e-certificate is your proof of qualification and is required when applying for a CSCS Labourer Card.
Upon completion, learners will receive PDF copies of their certificates.
The exam lasts 1 hour and consists of 40 multiple choice questions. A pass mark of 80% (32/40) is required.

Successful candidates will receive a Highfield Certificate.
When completing this course you will receive two e-certificates. The first will be given upon completing the learning material provided by Highfield Qualifications. It only proves that you have completed the learning part of the course.
The second e-certificate represents the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment, which you will receive after passing the online invigilated exam. The second e-certificate is proof of your qualification and will allow you to apply for a CSCS Labourer card.
This course certificate has no expiry and is a lifetime qualification. The HSE recommends refresher training is carried out whenever it is felt necessary. Safety registration bodies such as CHAS, SafeContractor, ConstructionLine & SMAS and other members of the SSiP scheme recommend that most re-training is done every 3 years. We would recommend refreshing knowledge as and when legislation or guidance changes applicable to these regulations.
