This course outlines the requirements of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, and provides some basic guidance and knowledge of first aid in emergency situations.
Although some first aid advice is provided, along with a limited number of emergency scenarios, it is important to understand that this training course is a basic awareness course. It is NOT a skills based first aid training course.
The advice in this course is taken from HSE and Red Cross published material. We also link to an interactive training course on the British Red Cross website that provides more in-depth first aid advice and an online, certified self assessment.
The certificates attained at the end of this course and on the British Red Cross website do not constitute evidence of a formal skills assessment. This course is NOT an approved workplace qualification for the purpose of Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
This is a general First Aid awareness course for all employees and employers. While some basic First Aid knowledge will be attained while completing this course, it is designed to provide an awareness of the requirements of relevant legislation and regulations including the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Meets the requirements of HSE, CHAS, SafeContractor, ConstructionLine, Exor, SMAS and other SSIPs.
