Fire Training Online Course - Objectives

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) replaced most fire safety legislation with one simple order.

Any person who has some level of control in premises must take reasonable steps to reduce the risk from fire and make sure people can safely escape if there is a fire.

Provision of adequate fire safety awareness training for employees is required by the FSO. Therefore training people in fire safety awareness is a key part of meeting the Regulations' requirements.

This online Fire Safety course will help organisations meet their legal obligations and provide candidates with a thorough awareness of the dangers associated with fire and the management and control measures required to control the risks.

After completing the fire safety course, candidates will be able to answer the following questions:

• What are the risks associated with fire?

• What are the legal and regulatory framework that underpin fire management?

• What are the chemical and physical nature of fire?

• What are the various fire classifications?

• What are the processes needed to manage fire risk?

• What are the processes needed to manage fire prevention and fight fires?

• What are the basic emergency procedures when dealing with a fire?

Fire Safety Online - Course Structure

The course comprises 2 interactive modules and a final assessment. Links to recommended reading and additional resources may be provided within the training modules. These links are not mandatory and will not be tested for in the final assessment.

Fire Safety Online Course - Duration

It takes approximately 30 minutes to complete the course in full. This can be spread out over multiple sessions or completed in a single session. There is no time limit for completion.

Fire Safety Training - Assessment

All candidates must complete a multiple choice assessment after working through the training material. The candidate will be asked 16 multiple choice questions, randomly chosen from a larger question pool, and need to answer a minimum of 12 correctly to pass. Candidates will be given instant feedback after completing the assessment stating whether they have passed or failed. The assessment can be re-taken as many times as is required to pass at no additional cost.

Successful candidates will receive a RoSPA Assured/CPD Certificate and 0.5 CPD Credits.

The fire safety training certificate has no expiry date because there is no formally recognised period of validity for any health and safety training. The HSE recommends refresher training is carried out whenever it is felt necessary. Safety registration bodies such as CHAS, SafeContractor, ConstructionLine & SMAS and other members of the SSiP scheme recommend most re-training is done every 3 years.

The system automatically creates an admin group of your learners, this means you can access your learner accounts to obtain certificates or schedule reports on the progress of your group, useful for Health & Safety audits or Registration to organisations such as CHAS, SMAS, SafeContractor, ConstructionLine etc or site access when certificates are required.
